Neck & Body Serum
A minimalist, silky formulation with a premium non-tacky after-feel.
Extracted from the endosperm of the guar bean, AURIST™ GHI forms high viscosity solutions at low concentration, and can be blended with other hydrocolloids, in particular Xanthan gum. It is the ideal thickener for leave on formulas and can be used as sensory enhancer in rinse off.

Based on a sensory evaluation by expert panel testing, the combination of AURIST™ GHI and xanthan gum can help reduce stickiness.

The combination of AURIST™ GHI and xanthan gum can deliver higher viscosity than xanthan gum alone, reducing the total amount of polymer in the final formula.

Adding AURIST™ GHI to a formula provides improved lubricating properties. Moreover, AURIST™ GHI is stable in a wide pH range and in presence of cationic compounds.
Natural polymers have long been used as rheology, sensory, and texture modifiers. Guar gum is a polymer extracted from the endosperm of the Guar bean. In this article, we discuss guar gum’s rheological behavior and application as a thickener in different types of cosmetic formulations. We also investigate how the synergistic combination of Guar gum and Xanthan gum results in enhanced viscosity. The wide pH range and cationic components compatibility, together with its unique sensory profile, make the underused guar gum a very promising ingredient for the thickening of various beauty and personal care products.
| The synergistic interaction of xanthan and guar gums form stronger associations than the individual ingredients alone. | Additionally, the viscosity of 1% xanthan can be achieved with 0,5% of the AURIST™ GHI/Xanthan combo. |
